Interesting event in the office this week.
We routinely shop and negotiate with lenders for our buyer clients. Last week, we were looking at loans for one of our luxury home buyers whose loan amount will be close to a million dollars.
This is in the “jumbo” loan category and there are often wide spreads in the pricing from different lenders for jumbos.
For this particular loan two credible local lenders were prices a full percent different.
When we look at the value differential the figure is huge!
The important thing to note is that no one lender has the best loan for all buyers. Anybody who tells you that is either naive or wants to take advantage of you.
